Kerr Regional History Center Reopens


The Butt-Holdsworth Memorial Library is pleased to announce the reopening of the newly renovated Kerr Regional History Center, located at 425 Water Street. The History Center is open on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

The Kerr Regional History Center serves as a repository for regionally significant historical and genealogical collections and a research center for the residents of the City of Kerrville, Kerr County, the Texas Hill Country, and beyond. The Kerr Regional History Center closed in 2016 for renovations including a new roof, interior restoration and renovation, and the installation of an elevator for access to new exhibit space on the second floor.


Library Youth Summer Reading Club


June 1st - July 31st


Join us for another fun summer of events and programs with the Summer Reading Club! Our theme this year is "Build a Better World." Activities include child and teen friendly professional programs at the Cailloux Theater, family movies, crafts and Lego programs. All programs are free of charge and a library card is not required to participate in the club, however, registration in the Summer Reading program is requested. Library Adult Summer Reading Club

June 1st-July 31st


Summer Reading is no longer just for kids! Adults are invited to join us for another fun summer of events and programs with the Summer Reading Club. Our theme this year is "Build a Better World." Activities include guest speakers, movie matinees, and craft programs. All programs are free of charge and a library card is not required to participate in the club, however, registration in the Summer Reading

Creative Relaxation Coloring Group


Thursday, July 20th at 6:00 p.m.


Coloring is not just for kids these days! Special guest and internationally published local artist Eric Messinger will be demonstrating all the tips and tricks to coloring like a pro. Ages 18 and above are welcome. All supplies provided. First floor meeting room.

Paws for Pals: Library to Host Kerr County Animal Services


Wednesday, July 26th at 10:30 a.m.


The Library is excited to announce we will host a special story time with Kerr County Animal Services in the Library Meeting Room. Join us for stories, crafts and a talk on the role of Animal Services in the community. Learn about high risk rabies carries, what to do when you encounter stray animals and how you can help. We will also have a special visit from Kerr County Animal Services' canine ambassador, Baby Face "Nelson."

Library Anime Club


Next meeting: Saturday, August 5th at 1:30 p.m.


Anime Club meetings are held the first Saturday of every month through at 1:30 p.m. in the Library Meeting Room. The club screens anime shows and movies from classics to new releases. Everyone ages 13 and above with a love for all things anime and manga are welcome. 

Social Crafters


Tuesday, August 8th at 4:00 p.m.


Come share ideas, show off your projects and get inspired. The group will meet in the Library Meeting Room, located on the first floor.

Adult Book Club


Next meeting: Thursday, August 10th at 12:00 p.m.


The Adult Book Club is an "open" club, allowing those interested to attend as often as they choose. Participants are welcome to bring their lunch as they gather to discuss the month’s book selection. Meetings are held the second Thursday of the month at Noon in the third floor conference room. 

At the August meeting the group will discuss "The Ancient Minstrel" by Jim Harrison. Patrons may place a request for the book in person, by phone at (830) 258-1274, or on the library website at

Friends of the Butt-Holdsworth Memorial Library Book Store


Wednesdays 1 - 3 p.m. & Second Saturdays 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

 
Visit the Friends on Wednesday afternoons and on the second Saturday of each month in their Book Store. The Friends have a wide selection of gently used books, movies, and audiobooks to choose from. Proceeds from the sale support the Summer Reading Program, Large Print collection, and Audiobook collection.
