The first phase of the Kerrville River Trail is scheduled to begin in August 2011 with engineering and site work between the Riverside Nature Center and Louise Hays Park.  Trailheads and public parking will be provided at both the center and the park.  Phase 1 funding is provided by voter approved bonds for the project.  Below are the master plan sheets for the trail's entire length, which is planned to extend from near Coronado Drive on the west end to Kerrville-Schreiner Park on the east end.

River Trail Project Description                                                                                                            

As an addition to the soon-to-be renovated Butt-Holdsworth Memorial Library, a playground designed for children 2 - 12 years of age is scheduled to be completed prior to the reopening of the Library in January 2012.  Included in the project will be modular play structure, swings, shade canopies, seating, safety fall zone surface, and full accessibility from the adjacent parking lot and Library.  Funding for the playground has been provided from the Charity Ball fundraiser for 2011.
