Kathleen C. Cailloux

The Kathleen C. Cailloux Theater for the Performing Arts opened in the spring of 2003. The Cailloux Family and the City of Kerrville collaborated in the renovations of the Kerrville Municipal Auditorium (built in 1960) to provide a first-class auditorium for the residents of Kerrville, and to create a facility that has become a focal point for the performing arts in the Texas Hill Country.  As one enters onto the granite and marble flooring of the foyer, your attention is immediately drawn to the grand stairway. The Texas limestone walls provide a hill country feel to an auditorium one would expect to see in the larger venues of Texas. In the 834-seat auditorium there are no obstructed view seats in the house, providing full view of the stage from each velvet theater chair. There are several areas designated specifically for those individuals who have special needs, including an elevator to provide access to the rear of the auditorium.  The Cailloux Theater is home to The Kerrville Performing Arts Society, Symphony of the Hills, Playhouse 2000, and The Hill Country Youth Orchestras. Also, the Kerrville Independent School District holds many of their programs in the theater. In addition, the Cailloux Theater is available to private organizations for various functions.
