Summer Job Opportunity
Have you always wanted to be a lifeguard? Do you enjoy working outdoors and being around water?
If so, this job is for you! The City of Kerrville is currently accepting applications for lifeguards to work at the Olympic Pool for the summer. The aquatics seasonal staff includes: pool manager, assistant managers, lifeguard / swim instructors, and cashiers.
Applicants must be at least sixteen years old and be able to work regularly from late May through the end of July, and occasionally through mid-August to assist with aquatic related Special Events. For information refer to our lifeguard flyer, here.
Employment applications may be picked up at City Hall located at 701 Main Street or online at our employment opportunities page. Interested parties are encouraged to submit applications as soon as possible as training is held in the spring for selected applicants. See below for details.
Training Course (May 5-7, 2017):
The Lifeguards are licensed with Jeff Ellis & Associates and training is provided through the Parks & Recreation Department at a fee of $100. This fee is eligible for reimbursement for those who complete the season. Training prerequisites include: 100 yard swim, brick retrieval from deepest part of the pool (16 ft.), and treading water for one minute without the use of your arms.
