Records

The Records Section of the Kerrville Police Department provides a variety of services and information to the community. Our mission is to deliver professional, courteous service and timely accurate information in accordance with record release and privacy laws.  The Section is staffed by a Records Supervisor and a Records Clerk.

The Records Section receives, records and stores information pertaining to police activities, including accident reports and retrieves and distributes this information to authorized personnel and to citizens through Open Records requests.

The Section processes requests for courts, processes Department of Public Safety Uniform Crime Reports, and performs local background checks for individuals, the military and employers.

All of the calls for police service made to our department this year will, in some form or another, find their way to the Record Section and become a permanent part of our information system.

In 2016, the Records Section processed 4,088 offense/incident and accident reports.
