The Kerrville Parks and Recreation Department would like to stress the importance of being mindful of the City Council’s Declaration of Disaster, the President’s Coronavirus Guidelines for America, and Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s executive order, prohibiting nonessential social gathering. Staff if working diligently to provide extra sanitation to high contact areas / facilities.

The following changes have been made to operations:

  • The Parks and Recreation Department Office has restricted in-person interactions.  Please contact us at (830) 257-7300 or
  • Park facility reservations will not be accepted until further notice.
  • All Parks and Recreation activities have been postponed until further notice.
  • Existing Special Event Applications have been revoked, and new applications are no longer being accepted until further notice.
  • Group park use is not allowed until further notice, including license agreements with authorized users.
  • Kerrville-Schreiner Park will not be accepting new reservations or allowing reservation extensions until further notice. Day use capacity is in effect to avoid crowding. For inquiries, call (830) 257-7300 or send us an e-mail.
  • The Scott Schreiner Golf Course is open (one cart allowed per person unless in the same household). Reservations are REQUIRED. Booked tee times by calling the Pro Shop at (830) 257-4982. Visit for more information.
  • The Tennis Complex is open. Reservations are REQUIRED for court use. Court availability may be limited. Use the Kourts Reservation System or contact the Tennis Pro at (830) 896-7955 to secure your playing time.
  • The Louise Hays Park Fountain Plaza and Carver Park Sprayground are closed until further notice.
  • The Dog Park is open. Please be mindful of social distancing. Failure to adhere to rules may result in re-closure.
  • Park amenities that encourage social gathering have been closed until further notice including interactive water features, drinking fountains, playgrounds, volleyball courts, basketball courts, pavilions, and group picnic tables in close proximity to each other.

Please refer all questions regarding the COVID-19 (corona virus) to our new joint operations center at (830) 258-1111. Staff will be available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to answer citizens’ questions, and direct them to additional information sources if needed. Our goal is to encourage active living while following the City Council’s Declaration of Disaster, the President’s Coronavirus Guidelines for America, and Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s executive order.
