On September 14, 2011 at 12:00pm, Kerrville Police Department Officers Scott Gaige and Sgt. Phil Engstrom were sworn in during a promotional ceremony held at the Kerrville Police Department. Chief John M. Young, Jr., administered the oath of office to both officers. Officer Gaige received his stripes and Sergeant's badge for his promotion to Sergeant. Sgt. Engstrom received his bar and Lieutenant's badge for his promotion to Lieutenant. Both officers will be assigned to Field Operations Division.
Sgt. Gaige has been with the Kerrville Police Department for more than 5 years. He began his career in Law Enforcement with the Bexar County Constables Pct. # 2 Office in 2004 and holds an Advanced Peace Officer and Instructor certification. Sgt. Gaige has served in Patrol and Special Operations Unit. He fills the Sergeant position created by Sergeant Phil Engstrom promoting to the Field Operations Lieutenant position.
Lt. Engstrom has been with the Kerrville Police Department for more than 8 years. He began his career in Law Enforcement with the Fredericksburg Police Department in 2001 and holds an Advanced Peace Officer and Instructor certification. Lt. Engstrom has served in Patrol and Special Operations Unit Commander. He fills the Lieutenant position created by Lieutenant Curtis Thomason who transferred to the Support Services Division.
The ceremony was attended by the Command Staff, fellow officers, employees, and family.
