[ARCHIVED] Traffic Fatality

On Wednesday, August 14, 2013, at 9:54 a.m., the Kerrville Police Department received a 9-1-1 call regarding a Vehicle Crash in the 2200 block of State Hwy 27 West (Junction Hwy). KPD officers responded along with the Kerrville Fire Department / Emergency Medical Services.

A preliminary investigation showed 53 year old Gary Blackstock was traveling eastbound on Junction Highway in a 2008 white Ford dually truck when he struck another truck which was facing eastbound in the center turn lane waiting to turn onto Mill Run. Blackstock continued eastbound, crossed the westbound traffic lanes, drove into a culvert ditch and became airborne. His truck then struck an unoccupied building located in the 2200 block of Junction Highway. Mr. Blackstock, was pronounced deceased at the scene by Justice of the Peace William Ragsdale. The driver and sole occupant of the second vehicle was reported to be uninjured at the crash scene.

The Kerrville Police Department’s Traffic Unit is investigating the cause of the crash.
