[ARCHIVED] Kerrville Police Investigates Homicide - UPDATE

On December 30, 2013 at approximately 1:33 pm, Officers of the Kerrville Police Department were dispatched to the 1200 Block of Water Street for a citizen’s report of an unresponsive adult female found in a parked vehicle.

Officers found the body of thirty-seven (37) year old Valerie Marie Jimenez of Kerrville, Texas. Jimenez was found in a vehicle which was parked in a parking lot of the 1200 Block of Water Street.

Justice of the Peace Kathy Mitchell was notified and responded to the location. Judge Mitchell ordered an autopsy to be conducted.

The Kerrville Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit (C.I.U.) began their investigation, which is handling the investigation as a homicide.

Information and evidence obtained by Officers and Investigators working the case, led to the suspect who was identified as thirty-three (33) year old Shawn Richard Forster.

The Criminal Investigation Unit Investigators then presented the information to the Justice of the Peace Precinct #3. An affidavit was filed against Forster with Judge Mitchell and an arrest warrant for Murder – 1st Degree in violation of Texas Criminal Penal Code 19.02, was issued. A $500,000 bond was set by the court.

An active search for Forster throughout the night into Tuesday, December 31st was conducted through the combined efforts of the KPD’s C.I.U., Special Crimes, and Field Operations Units, along with the Kerr County Sheriff’s Office, and the U.S. Marshals Service - San Antonio Division.

At approximately 1:39 p.m. on December 31, 2013, Forster was found deceased in the 100 Block of Wood Trail, in Kerr County.

The Kerr County Sheriff’s Office is conducting the investigation into Forster’s death.
