Kerrville-Schreiner Park

INFORMATION
Kerrville-Schreiner Park is a 517-acre recreation and camping park on the Guadalupe River.  State Hwy 173 splits the park into two sides, the Hill Side (larger side) and the River Side (smaller side on the Guadalupe).  Pets are welcome in the park however prohibited in all buildings / facilities. 

The Parks and Recreation Department is located on the River Side of the Park. 

HISTORY
Kerrville-Schreiner Park began as a city park built by the C.C.C. in the 1930's then deeded to the State of Texas and became a State Park.  On February 13, 2004, Kerrville-Schreiner Park was transferred back to the City of Kerrville under the authority of Texas House Bill 2108.  Improvements to the park included the addition of sewer connections to both RV camping loops on the river side of the park, 23 new mini-cabins, shoreline stabilization and water sports area development, renovation of restrooms and group facilities. 

AMENTITIES
Amphitheater
The Amphitheater is located on the River side of the park near the Recreation Hall.  With a capacity of 220 people, the Amphitheater is home to our Movies in the Park series and is available to rent for your unique event.

Butterfly Garden
The Butterfly Garden was designed and installed in 2000 by the Friends of Kerrville-Schreiner State Park.  The garden is approximately 104’ x 104’ and is enclosed by a deer proof fence.  In the middle of the garden is a fire ring with seating with a raised circular bed separating this area from the remainder of the garden.  There are several mulched paths marked by flags for the milkweed which are used for data collection. In 2006, the garden was certified as a Monarch Way Station.

Dining Hall
The Dining Hall is located on the Hill Side of the park.  The Dining Hall is a screened facility without A/C and is available to rent with a capacity of 100 people.  It features a kitchen with sink and hot water, household size refrigerator / freezer, full width serving bar, picnic tables, two microwave ovens and a large outdoor grill.  The Dining Hall is surrounded by seven Mini-Cabins in a private setting. 

Recreation Hall
The Recreation Hall is located on the River Side of the park.  The Recreation Hall is an enclosed building with central air / heat and capacity of 100 people.  It is available as a day use or overnight rental and includes indoor restrooms, kitchen sink with hot water, electric range cook-top, full size oven, household size refrigerator / freezer, large serving countertop with eleven bar stools, two microwave ovens and large outdoor grill. 

Mini-Cabins
23 Mini-Cabins are available to rent throughout the Hill and River Sides of the Park.  Each Mini-Cabin includes two sets of bunk beds, dining table with four chairs, air / heat, 20 AMP outlet inside the min-cabin, Utility pole with water and electricity (20 and 30 AMP), picnic table outside the mini-cabin, and campfire pit or barbeque grill or combination unit.  All Mini-Cabins are located near restroom facilities with flush toilets and hot showers.  Linens are not provided.  Check in time is 3:00 p.m. with a 12:00 p.m. check out. 

Park Cabin
The Park Cabin is located on the Hill Side of the park in a private setting.  It includes a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, limited supply of dishes and silverware, queen size bed with linens, TV with satellite system, dining table with seating for four, restroom facility with shower.  Check in time is 3:00 p.m. with a 12:00 p.m. check out.

Ranch House
This Ranch-Style House is located on the Hill Side of the park in an enclosed private setting.  It includes a full size kitchen with refrigerator, microwave, oven, sink, dining table with seating for four, washer / dryer, living room with TV, fireplace, couch and chairs, three bedrooms which sleeps a total of six, and full size restroom with shower.  Check in time is 3:00 with a 12:00 p.m. check out.
