The Community Camera Program is a voluntary program allowing members of our community to notify the Kerrville Police Department of the location of personally owned security cameras which may aid in the apprehension of criminals operating in our business areas and residential neighborhoods. The Community Camera Program is designed to enhance community safety and foster partnerships with local residents and businesses.

By joining the Community Camera Program, you play a vital role helping our #ONETEAM solve crimes, locate missing persons, and respond more effectively to public safety concerns. Participants simply register their security cameras with the Kerrville Police Department. This allows local law enforcement to easily identify nearby cameras which may have captured footage of a crime in your area.

The Community Camera Program Key Points:

• Voluntary Participation: Your participation plays a pivotal role by providing crucial evidence for investigations where evidence is often limited. By having a network of cameras in neighborhoods, the Kerrville Police Department can easily canvass the area after a crime to identify potential witnesses or suspects through camera footage.

• Privacy Protected: You are not granting us access to your camera system, you are simply notifying us there is a camera at your location. Nor is your information shared with anyone. The Kerrville Police Department will contact you and ask for permission only if there was a criminal incident in the vicinity of your camera.

• Easy to Join: Signing up is quick, free, and could make a significant difference in keeping Kerrville safe.

Together, we can create a safer community for everyone. For more information or to register, please visit https://polaris.cameraregistry.net/registry/KerrvilleTXPD.

Thank you for being part of the solution. Let’s back each other up, Kerrville!
