Lifeguard Competition Team

What is "Guard Team"?


A "Guard Team" is a competitive lifeguard team that competes against other teams across the state of Texas. A Guard Team consists of four lifeguards, typically two female and two male. In addition to their regular duties, the team endures rigorous and specialized training to prepare for these competitions.

The Kerrville Guard Team participates in at least two regional qualifier competitions during the summer - the Texas Super Guard Competition and the Central Texas Lifeguard Competition. Teams must place in the top three at a qualifying competition in order to advance to the State Lifeguard Championships.

2022 Guard Team

State Lifeguard Championship - 3rd PLACE!

The Guard Team competed at the State Lifeguard Championships in Brenham, Texas on August 1, 2022. The team placed 3rd out of 12 qualifying teams.

Central Texas Lifeguard Competition - 3rd PLACE!

The Guard Team competed at the Central Texas Lifeguard Competition in New Braunfels, Texas on July 11, 2022. The team placed 3rd out of 10 teams. The team qualified for the State competition. For more information, click here.

2018 Guard Teams

State Lifeguard Championships - 1ST & 2nd PLACE!

The Guard Teams competed at the State Lifeguard Championships in Bryan, Texas on July 30, 2018. The "Angels" team placed 1st and the "Owls" placed 2nd out of the 12 qualifying teams. For more information, click here.

The Guard Teams competed at the Central Texas Lifeguard Competition in Round Rock on July 18, 2018. The teams placed 1st and 2nd out of 10 teams. The teams qualified for the State competition. For more information, click here.

E&A Lifeguard Competition - 1st & 2nd PLACE!

This competition took place at NRH2O in North Richland Hills, Texas on July 16, 2018. The "Owls" team placed 1st and the "Angels" placed 2nd out of 9 teams.

Central Texas Lifeguard Competition - 1ST PLACE!


The Guard Team competed at the Central Texas Lifeguard Competition in New Braunfels on July 17, 2017. The team placed 1st out of 14 teams. The team qualified for the State competition. For more information, click here.

State Lifeguard Championships - 1ST PLACE!


The Guard Team competed at the State Lifeguard Championships in McAllen on August 1, 2016. The team placed 1st out of the 12 qualifying teams. For more information, click here. 

Central Texas Lifeguard Competition - 2nd PLACE!


The Guard Team qualified for the State competition by placing 2nd out of 16 teams at the Central Texas Lifeguard Competition on July 18, 2016. For more information, click here.

2013 Guard Team


State Lifeguard Championships - 1ST PLACE!


The Guard Team competed at the State Lifeguard Championships in Corpus Christi on July 24, 2013. The team placed 1st out of 12 teams. For more information, click here.

Central Texas Lifeguard Competition - 3rd PLACE!


The Guard Team placed 3rd out of 16 teams at the Central Texas Lifeguard Competition held in New Braunfels on July 15, 2013 in addition to placing 1st in the CPR / First-Aid Division and 2nd in the Spinal Injury Management Division.

Texas Super Guard Competition - 2nd PLACE!


The Guard Team competed against 23 teams, and earned 2nd Place at the Texas Super Guard Competition held in College Station on July 8, 2013. For more information, click here.

2012 Guard Team


The Lifeguard Competition Team competed at the Central Texas Lifeguard Competition in New Braunfels on July 16, 2012. The team placed 1st in the First-Aid / CPR Division and 3rd overall out of 20 teams which qualified them for the State Lifeguard Championships held in Corpus Christi on July 30th.
