The Communications Section is committed to providing you with the most efficient service possible during your emergency and is an important link between the community and the Kerrville Police Department.
The Communications Section is the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) for the City of Kerrville. It is comprised of ten (10) Telecommunication Specialists and a Communications Manager. The Specialists answer in-coming calls for service, calls for Fire and Emergency Medical Services, all radio traffic and make notifications for emergency and non-emergency situations. All of Kerr County’s 9-1-1 calls are handled and routed though Communications.
The Communications Section is staffed twenty-four hours a day seven days a week.
In 2016, the Communications Staff handled 12,093 calls for service, an average of 33 calls per day.
